Born in Manchester with half Italian heritage, Lucy seized the opportunity for storytelling after her successful YouTube channel and blog shared with her twin sister Kelly were noticed by publishers at HQ Digital.

Enchanting readers into her world of romance, her first novel titled ‘How to Bake a New Beginning’ was inspired by her late Grandparents and features the idyllic Amalfi Coast of Italy along with a plethora of pastries.

Since its publication in 2018, Lucy has gained popularity within the women’s writing sphere and has produced five more novels. She spoke about what she’s learnt about herself whilst creating her books: “writing teaches me a lot about patience, perseverance, and believing in myself.”

Travel is a vital aspect of her work, with locations spanning from Manchester all the way to Italy and Canada featuring in her books, allowing readers to go on adventures from the comfort of their bedrooms.

Lucy manages to encapsulate the essence of love, acceptance, and the importance of family, encouraging readers to follow their dreams no matter how big or small. Her novels place particular importance on friendships and support from loved ones near and far, leaving readers with a sense of whimsical charm that means they just can’t get enough.

When she isn’t working as a teaching assistant or writing, she enjoys skateboarding and curling up on the couch with a book. But she doesn’t just stop there — Lucy and her sister are also ambassadors for Kidscape, an anti-bullying charity whose aims are to prevent children from harm. “We talk on our YouTube channel about topics to make kids smile, give them positivity, share our stories, and make sure they know they are not alone. We are huge advocates in empowering kids, wanting them to know they are valued and loved, teaching them about kindness and standing up for themselves.”

On the topic of advice for new writers, Lucy said: “write and love what you are writing. No one else can tell your story — no matter how many rejections come your way or how many times you sit and struggle to get one word on the page, your book was meant for someone. You never know how many people your books will reach, but one day your story will connect with someone who needed to read your words, so don’t give up!”

Speaking about her favourite authors, she needed to mention her idol Jack Kerouac. “He has been a huge inspiration to me in writing the books I wish to write and drawing inspiration from my life and people in it.”
